Westlake Epoxy’s Deer Park Plant Secures ISCC PLUS for Mass‑Balance Epoxy Resins

Westlake Corporation confirmed ISCC PLUS certification for its Deer Park, Texas, epoxy resin facility, extending mass‑balance renewable feedstock attribution to liquid and solid epoxy resins and liquid epoxy blends in North America. The certification joins an existing Duisburg, Germany, site and may affect supply‑chain documentation, procurement claims, and regulatory reporting for users of those resins.

Celanese to supply CCU-derived vinyl acetate ethylene binders for SharpCell airlaid nonwovens

Celanese and SharpCell Oy announced a cooperation to integrate carbon capture and utilization (CCU)–derived chemical feedstocks into vinyl acetate ethylene (VAE) binders used in airlaid nonwoven production, with Celanese sourcing CCU inputs at its Clear Lake, Texas facility and SharpCell projecting use of over 400 metric tons of captured CO2 annually. The integration, managed via mass-balance accounting for commingled feedstocks, may be relevant to professionals monitoring polymer chemistry, supply-chain traceability, regulatory reporting, and intellectual property arrangements.
