PPG installed an IPG PhotoniCURE™ laser curing pilot finishing line at its Strongsville, Ohio powder facility and a laboratory system at its Coatings Innovation Center for feasibility work. Pilot trials with Whirlpool are underway to evaluate powder coating formulations and throughput effects on a range of appliance components.
